PMCS covers all eleven TIPS IT Staff Augmentation categories. Here's an honest look at where we're strongest and what each category covers in practice.
Applications / Software Development
This is where most of our work starts. We place Java, .NET, Python, and React developers who've actually worked in government environments — they know the security reviews, the change control boards, and the documentation requirements that commercial shops skip.
Data / Database Administration
Strong bench here. Oracle and SQL Server are our bread and butter, but we also place people who've moved agencies onto Azure SQL and managed cloud migrations without the usual drama. Ask us about specific DBA experience — we usually have people.
Web and Mobile Development
Government portals need to work for everyone, including people on older devices and assistive technology. Our web devs build to WCAG 2.1 AA standards because that's the law in Texas public sector, not an afterthought.
Quality Assurance & Testing
We have QA analysts who understand waterfall gate reviews and Agile sprint cadences. They write test plans, run regression cycles, coordinate UAT with business users, and document defects in whatever tool you use.
Networking / Telecommunications
LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN — we've placed network engineers in agencies dealing with everything from aging Cisco infrastructure to modern cloud-connected environments. Security clearances are often required here; we factor that into sourcing.
Information Technology Security
Cybersecurity roles take longer to fill well. We don't rush them. Our security candidates come with NIST and FISMA alignment experience because Texas DIR frameworks demand it. Incident responders, SIEM operators, and vulnerability analysts — we have them.
Project Management and PM Office
A PM who doesn't know how Texas state agency projects are governed is a liability. Ours do. They've sat through DIR oversight reviews, built milestone trackers for LBB reporting, and run stakeholder communication plans that satisfy both agency leadership and external auditors.
Technical Services, Help Desk & Operations
Tier 1 through Tier 3. We staff help desks for agencies that serve hundreds or thousands of employees, and our operations staff have worked in environments where downtime has real consequences for the public.
IT Service Management
ITIL-trained ITSM professionals who can run change advisory boards, manage service catalogs, and keep configuration management databases accurate. These roles require discipline — we screen for people who have that.
IT Marketing
Technology communications for agencies rolling out new systems or citizen-facing portals. Not the most common category, but when you need someone who can translate technical change into plain-language communications for staff or the public, we've got them.
IT Contract Management
Contract administration is unglamorous work that matters enormously. Our contract managers understand cooperative contract compliance, vendor performance tracking, and the documentation trails that audits expect.
